For centuries, this rock and surrounding boulders have served as a place for travelers to record their passage along the Hamblin Wash in Northern Arizona. The Anasazi were probably the first to leave pictographs carved into the sandstone. Others followed with inscriptions from nineteenth century Mormon pioneers to spray paint done in the new millennia. The conundrum is; at what point do the markings stop being historical and become vandalism?
