Travel south from Page, Arizona a couple of miles and you’ll come across a sign that says “Horseshoe Bend Overlook”. It points to a dirt parking lot at the base of a sand dune. If you trudge up the well worn path for about a half mile, you’ll be rewarded with this view.
I warn you that you will have to creep up to the edge because you won’t be able to see the river until you do. The cliff on the other side is closer than it appears in this picture because I had to use a wide angle lens to get this shot. When I was younger, standing at the edge wouldn’t bother me, but as an older man, my knees quaked when I had to stand with my back to the cliff’s edge while making shutter settings.
