Prickly Pear

These are prickly pear with ripening fruit. The fruit can be harvested and boiled down to make a preserve. It’s sold usually at the kind of places tourists hang out like at the airport or in resorts. I’ve never been adventurous enough to try it. I figure if it were really good, you’d never find it growing wild like this. The javelinas like it but they’re pigs and they’ll eat anything.
