Peach Leaves - 2004
The ferry master lived a short walk away at a ranch called Lonely Dell. Named by Mormon explorer Jacob Hamblin, the good ranch-land at the mouth of the Paria River provided the sustenance for the families living there. Originally the orchards were north of the farmhouses but were replanted on the south side in the 1960's. Here in mid Autumn, the leaves covering the ground look like peach slices.
